Microchipping will become compulsory on 6th April for identification. Not only can it help reunite you with your pet if it becomes lost or stolen, it is required as part of the pet passport scheme.
Helen is a registered, qualified & insured pet micro chipper and offers this as a mobile service which she can carry out in your own home.
All microchips implanted are from Pet-detect® and registered with Petlog the UK’s largest pet database run by The Kennel Club. You can contact them any time on 0844 463 3999.
The procedure is very quick and simple, but your pet will feel more secure and comfortable in their own surroundings. Perhaps you have a cat or dog which is scared of going to the vets? Well this is an ideal solution for you.
The dog or cat should feel no more discomfort from a microchip implant than from a conventional injection. Microchipping uses Radio Frequency (RFID) technology and cannot be tampered with, fade or be removed. The chip is deposited into the fatty area between the shoulder blades. The needle houses the microchip and is therefore larger than a conventional needle, however, a clever design allows it to incise the skin easily with little discomfort.
The image below shows how small and descreet the microchip really is!
